Sales teams are stretched; processes are highly manual where everything from lead generation to customer engagement needs human involvement. Too much time is spent following up with prospects, engaging with existing customers, entering data, and creating content in highly outdated tools.
While the broader adoption of AI-powered marketing and sales strategies have increased efficiencies, effective sales strategies still require a personable and human touch. In fact, video has become the dominant medium of content. According to a report by Wyzowl, “The State of Video Marketing 2022,” 84% of people say that they’ve been convinced to buy a product or service by watching a brand’s video. Similarly, HubSpot suggests that an email with a video can increase click-through rates by 200–300%.
But the burden of creating this video content once again falls to sales teams who cannot manually record videos for every single customer interaction, nor do they have the time to mock up tailored scenarios.
Some Chief Revenue Officers may joke that it’d be great if they could clone their sales teams; they can now.
EQT Ventures’ latest portfolio company, VidLab7 is using AI to revolutionize sales processes with synthetic media and generative AI. I was first introduced to Fabian and Georgi by a mutual connection and it only took a few minutes in a hotel lobby to be totally sold on the idea. Can you blame me? Their platform is brilliant, not only does it integrate seamlessly with some of the world’s largest CRM systems, it allows sales teams to create hyper-personalized video and voice content using either AI-generated content or lifelike avatar versions of themselves. Having been a founder myself, I admired their energy and already strong track record, and having also worked in senior sales roles, I could absolutely see how transformative their platform could be to revenue teams.
VidLab7 is perfectly set to capitalize on the latest wave in new sales stack technology. In the 1990s, CRM systems centralized customer data interactions, providing the market with a way to streamline lead management, sales tracking, and customer service. In the 2000s, companies pioneering marketing automation platforms that helped automate repetitive tasks like email campaigns were born. And in the 2010s, more advanced revenue intelligence technologies leveraging data to provide actionable insights saw the light of day.
AI-enabled synthetic media is a response to a market that demands more sophisticated, efficient, and personalized approaches to sales and marketing.
VidLab7’s founders were super early to this new category, having started, scaled and sold their first synthetic media company by the time we met. Fortunately, this time around, EQT Ventures is invested — leading the company’s’ Seed financing!
I was also impressed by the underlying tech. At the heart of VidLab7 is its groundbreaking Eclipse 7.2 AI Model that allows users to create, modify and bring to life sales avatars of themselves. These sales avatars can address customers or prospects by name, highlight specific products or services based on a potential customer’s browsing behavior, on needs discussed during a recent human interaction, or as part of an initial sales effort. The technology can also be used to create conversational avatars adapted to specific revenue campaigns, send personalized follow-up notes, adapt event invitations, training videos and more, all at an unprecedented scale and pace.
In short, VidLab7 completely revolutionizes sales processes.
